Dungeons & Dragons is making a comeback in consumer interest (perhaps the Netflix show Stranger Things had something to do with it?), and Hasbro is going all-in. The movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves was released this year to critical acclaim and general good reviews. They also plan on releasing a new version of the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop game next year, which I’m slightly excited about (I may buy it to play with my kids).
Even more impressive is how Hasbro used their own crowdfunding platform “Hasbro Pulse” to gauge interest in and bring back the 1980s board game Hero Quest. I’ve been playing Hero Quest with my kids and I’m also impressed with how it has an app that allows you to play solo or as a team while the app plays “dungeon master.”
Hasbro is a company that is making the necessary innovations to keep up with the times in a time when board games and action figures are going out of style.
I made a $1K bet on Hasbro stock (ticker symbol HAS) on July 17, 2023 at $63.55 per share.
